Recently I've been seeing Amru Khalid's Bismika Nahya videos. Bismika Nahya is a talk program about each name of Allah and what does it really mean and how it connects to us and how to use it in our daily lives. The videos are very enlightening (well I haven't finished seeing all of em yet). You should try YouTube them.

So there's this episode about Allah's name Ar-razaaq. While we've been perceiving that our rizq (mostly) comes disguised as money, we often overlook that the feeling when we have a good privy conversation with Allah pouring our heart out of piety - is also regarded a rizq, a rizq to the soul (a much better one, in fact).

When Allah gets angry to His slave He will deny him sustenance (the rizq), as quoted by our prophet saw "..a man is deprived provisions/sustenance for a sin he commits". And don't forget that Allah may also deprive one from the sustenance related to the soul. So hm it could be for someone who used to enjoy praying at night and weep in submission to Allah, doesn't do those anymore because in a way Allah is punishing him for something bad he commits.

Has it occurred to us that at one time we feel so god-consciously beriman and all geared up to even pray a hundred rakaat of solat (this often happens when bad befalls us and we have smthing to wish so badly - or is it just me) and at other times we don't. Of course iman has its ups and downs but it could (should) also mean Allah is punishing us He denied us the joy of being god-consciously beriman* :"(
Astaghfirullah and let's reflect..

P.s.: the title has nothing to do with this entry and I coincidentally found a nice pic of it

*god-consciously beriman = I don't know how to say it in words but there's just this feeling when Allah is really, really close that His presence is truly felt.
