Finding comfort?

So now my 4 days break has officially ended. And tomorrow I'll be back starting work at normal routine; 5 days a week, 8.30 - 5.30 a day. Which also means, I'll be facing S and many other (harder) people who work during daytime, and I have to stretch a little muscles to smile and make a pleasant face, and start acting like a professional, and do more challenging tasks. Of course, nothing bad about that. Face S, smile, be professional, do tougher task anyway. Ain't too hard to do ey?

The thing is, maybe I've been in my comfort zone for too long it's too dreadful to get out of it. It's easier to just stay in, with everything goes my way, work is do-able, people are easy and tak banyak hal, no big, gravity-defying obstacles coming. While we're at times like this, we tend to sit back and see life passes by in satisfaction while sipping our strawberry milkshakes in a rainy Saturday evening, all balled up in a quilt. It's so comfortable, so easy, so peaceful. Boy who wouldn't want that. But let's face it; sometimes Comfort doesn't come alone. It comes with his brother, name's Mediocrity. Mind you again, this doesnt happen all the time, but most of the time, it does. Along (too much and too long) comfort, there comes mediocrity. Why did I say so? It's because when we're being too comfortable that would mean we're not threatened by something harmful that would drive us to struggle to unharm ourselves. No struggle to improve ourselves. We might not even see the need to improve ourselves at all. As a result, we're being the same person everyday. Where's the thrill? No ups, no downs, the graph is constant all along. We're stagnant. There's a hadith saying,

Sowhattodonow?

Think of it like this. This comfort zone is surrounded by a fence. A tall and shabby one. Thornful perhaps. It could be that this fence is protecting us from something. But it's also keeping us from something else. And we're not that old that we can't climb over to see what it's probably keeping us from. It might be a little scary out there. Or we could get a little dirty. Or muddy. Or wet. But you never know.

But are you happy being a mediocre if you keep staying in? Don't you want to figure what's out there?

I'm gonna climb over. You coming?

P.s. This post is dedicated to this girl out there whose hopes and faith are worsening. Whose also having a bad PMS (thus explains why are her hopes and faith in such state in the first place)

P.p.s. The photo was taken some time ago in a room that's hard to see not in a mess :p and the thrown shawl completed the picture, I think, and it's from husna :)
