of trim tabs
this was during post-sahur while looking across the singapore city from the 63rd floor. breathtaking masyallah.
as usual, the best time to write a post is when the work is piling up. well, no surprise.
do you realize, that, hm as we go on our lives, there's always something that is not meant for us. we thought it was the best, or it was perfect, but ok Allah made it so reasonable that its not the best for us. maybe the reason was, well the timing wasnt right. or that it's just not good for us. or for simple simple reason that we're blinded from. but have you heard that Allah will not take something away from you without giving you something better in return. i'm not sure if its a hadith or a verse from quran or some quotes from famous scholars.
on a different note, ramadhan is approaching to its final 10 nights. and i humbly admit that my performance this year is not something i should proud of, well if compared to you guys, which i'm sure a dear-diary worthy. but lets still keep going, alright? the momentum is still there, insyallah.
there's this short tazkirah during tarawih prayer tonight about how we should put the world in our hands, and the akhirat in our heart - for the very obvious reason so that we dont dwell much upon the worldly affairs for it is merely temporary. we dont live our lives pleasing people, it is our Creator that we should please first. we dont live our lives chasing after all the worldly luxuries, it's the eternal luxuries that we should race after. of course this reminder goes to me first before you because i still find it so.o.oo hard to do so. may Allah make this easy for me, and for the rest of us.
i just finished a flight procedures course a couple of days ago. despite the major tiresome which i shouldnt be whining about, i refreshed learned a lot, alhamdulillah. one thing i would like to share here is about trim tabs.
an efficient muslim should act like a trim tab. a trim tab is a small surface at the end of the stabilizer at the tail of an aircraft. the size is small, but the work it does affects the whole aircraft. imagine when an aircraft is about to pitch up for example, the trim tab at the horizontal stabilizer needs to only move down a little bit to compensate the lift from the bigger horizontal stabilizer. with this little act, the whole aircraft is able to pitch up.
however it sounds like an ideal situation for someone to do little work to make such a big impact. hence its only suitable for efficient muslims. the output is greater than the input. and its really, really not easy. for a trim tab, it has to be far away from the center of pressure to generate a big moment* to pitch the whole aircraft. for humans like us, maybe we have to be far away from something too (maybe our sins?), to make a big moment to pitch our life to the better.
semangat je nak lukis2. but its just so you get the idea. i bet luqman draws planes much better than i do :p
selamat beramal. kesimpulannya, mari menjadi trim tab yg efficient!
*remember moment = force x perpendicular distance. the farther you go (distance), the bigger the moment is

regarding the something not meant for us thing, yeah its true.
my dream is to study in place A. like so badly want it. but Allah sent me to place B. and it turns out like way better. it was like okk if i did go there things wud really go different bla2. im sure everyone have this same kind of experience. like wanting something but given something else but ended up as a happy ending.
so the hardest thing here is how do we put our trust in Allah. for me, back then, i dont see why the path that i ended up with was good for me, but still Allah showed why it is so. thats Allah's rahmah.
the last 10 days of this month are perfect to build up our trust. lets do it.
trimtabseeker: agreed. most probably yeah maybe its the heart. sure, lets do it.
